I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
