Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a difficult season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.

This marks the player's first championship after the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt from that period of that year.

Success also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a championship is really nice," said ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

His retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to perform at the top level was over.

Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to push for a decider.

He saved four early opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, he earned the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
